The Flute Studio of Julie McGough is located in the South Hills (Pittsburgh) providing flute lessons to students in Bethel Park, Upper St Clair, Mt Lebanon and Peters Township as well as the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Students in my home studio range in age from 8 years old through college and attend schools in the South Hills, Pittsburgh area as well as CAPA.  Many students are chosen to perform in their district's honors bands and sit at the top of their school band flute section.  Through competitive auditions during the school year students have had the opportunity to perform in the Pittsburgh Youth Pops Orchestra, Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra and side-by-side McKeesport Symphony concerts.  Some of the studio's former members have gone on to be Music Education Majors at Duquesne, West Virginia, Chatham and Otterbein Universities.

In each lesson we focus on creating a clear, beautiful sound;  clean, fast technique and developing musicality.

A typical 30 minute lesson includes

- Scales and technique

- Tone and Vibrato

- Etudes or method books

- Duets

- Solos
