Student Experience: Courses

We Are Family

Become part of a flute legacy

As a student at the Flute Studio Pittsburgh you become part of a flute legacy, which spans hundreds of years of experience and teaching.  The teachings of my former teachers are passed down to my students in each and every lesson.

This legacy continues throughout the generations, as you pass it down to your peers, children and (maybe even) your own students!  I have had the opportunity to study with some of the greatest flutists of this generation and I am proud to share this knowledge and legacy with my students.

What do students get to do in the Flute Studio Pittsburgh?

"The meaning of life is to find your gift.  The purpose of life is to give it away." - Picasso

Being a part of the Flute Studio Pittsburgh is more than just weekly lessons!  Students at the Flute Studio can take part in a number of flute activities.

Everyone participates in private lessons every week.  The rest of our activities are optional.  Participation in studio recitals is not required, but highly encouraged!

  • weekly lessons

  • group classes

  • mock auditions

  • studio recitals

  • group outings

  • studio picnics

  • flute choir

  • local and national competitions

  • friendships that last a lifetime

One of the greatest joys as a teacher is watching my students blossom and grow as flutists.  Every week we work on refining technique and sound through exercises, repertoire and duets.  These skills are then used outside the studio in band class, auditions and concerts.
